The word Chakra is Sanskrit for spinning wheel or vortex and was given to the energy "vortexes"
found throughout the human body.
There are major and minor Chakras along with the Nadis/Meridians and all are channels of pure energy.
When properly balanced, the energies of the Chakras can promote good physical and mental health as
well as personal empowerment.
The following is a list of the 7 "Major" Chakras along with some of their associations.
Please note that this in my personal interpretation and may not necessarily be indicative of
the many diverse traditions and cultures found in the world. There are other colors, stones, and
representations used and this is just a sampling.
